Thabiti Alliance is an organization being established in Kilifi County, Kenya, to strengthen vulnerable children and families by helping them overcome specific barriers, build lasting stability, and access the opportunities they need to shape their own futures. It works from one guiding premise: the barrier is the problem, not the person. Thabiti Alliance is still at an early stage — its first pilot is being developed and its formal registration in Kenya is in progress.

"Thabiti" is a Kiswahili word meaning stable, firm, or secure. The name reflects the organization's central premise: that meaningful opportunity becomes sustainable only once children and families first have a foundation of stability and dignity to build on — not the other way around.

Thabiti Alliance's planned first pilot is based in Kilifi County, Kenya. The organization's work is intentionally limited to that county at this stage, rather than operating nationally or across multiple counties.

Thabiti Alliance's planned work is focused on vulnerable children and families in Kilifi County whose access to education and stability is affected by specific, verifiable barriers — such as school-related costs, food insecurity, healthcare needs, or unstable family circumstances. No beneficiaries are being served under a live programme yet; see What We Do and First Pilot for the current, still-developing scope of this work.

Every case is intended to move through the same structured process: a specific, verifiable barrier is identified; a documented needs assessment is carried out against clear, consistently applied eligibility criteria; support is then delivered in proportion to that barrier; and follow-up checks whether the barrier was actually resolved. Selection is not informal, and it does not depend on who is personally known to the organization. See Our Approach for the full process.

A referral or nomination can be raised with Thabiti Alliance, but it does not itself determine eligibility. Every referred case still goes through the same documented needs assessment and eligibility criteria as any other — nobody is admitted to support on the basis of a personal introduction alone.

Through documented needs assessments, consistently applied eligibility criteria, support delivered only through the organization's own financial controls — never informally or as undocumented cash — and follow-up monitoring that checks whether support actually addressed the barrier it was meant for. Thabiti Alliance is governed by its proposed, founding Board — Victor Vue (Chairperson), John Nguzo Mkoka (Vice-Chairperson), Edna Choni Nguzo (Founder & Voting Director), Isaac Muhoro (Treasurer), Sophie Ghandi (Secretary), Marry Kadzo Ngira (Director) and Winnie Nzikwa Nguzo (Director). This Board was confirmed at the organization's Founding Meeting and is subject to formal legal appointment upon registration. The Board is responsible for the organization's governance, and Thabiti Alliance's founding governance document sets out specific safeguards for how it operates — including that no decision materially affecting a related Board member may be approved without that person declaring the interest and recusing themselves, and that quorum cannot be made up solely of related members. A family relationship among three Board members (the Founder, the Vice-Chairperson, and one Director) is disclosed openly on our Governance & Transparency page, together with the safeguards that apply to it: any related member must declare an interest and recuse themselves from a vote on a matter that affects them, the related group is not treated as entitled to any presumption of majority support, and quorum cannot be constituted solely by related members. A dedicated Conflict of Interest Policy is also part of our planned document library.

Thabiti Alliance's planned financial controls require that organizational funds move only through the organization's own bank account, and that no single person can authorize a payment alone. Support delivered to beneficiaries is proportional to the identified barrier and is never provided informally or as undocumented cash. See Our Approach for more on these controls.

Yes — annual reports and audited financial statements are reserved categories in our public document library and will be published there once they exist. Thabiti Alliance has not yet completed a first full year of operation or a first independent audit, so no such report exists yet; nothing is invented or published in the meantime, and this page will be updated once real reports are available.

Protecting the safety, dignity, rights and privacy of every child, family and vulnerable person we work with is treated as a condition of how Thabiti Alliance operates, not an optional programme activity. Our commitments include the best interests of the child as the primary consideration in every decision, zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation and retaliation, dignity-preserving photography and storytelling, purpose-specific consent for any media use, no loss of assistance for declining to be photographed or featured, and a safe reporting pathway that does not pass through the person a concern is about. Not yet through a live donation process — no online or direct donation processing exists on this website at this stage, and none will be activated until the organization's legal and banking arrangements are fully in place. Individual giving pathways will be published here once they are real and confirmed.

Yes. Thabiti Alliance is looking to build relationships with international organizations, foundations, institutional donors and professional partners who want to understand its model and planned first pilot directly. No partnerships are currently in place — see Get Involved to start a conversation.

Thabiti Alliance is open to discussing funding partnerships once a funder has understood the model, its governance, and how funds would be tracked and reported. No funding commitments are currently in place. See Get Involved to make a partnership enquiry.

Structured volunteer roles are not yet open. Thabiti Alliance currently welcomes offers of technical and professional expertise — for example in finance, law, child protection, monitoring & evaluation, or communications — on a pro bono or advisory basis; see Get Involved. This page will be updated once specific, safeguarded volunteer roles are defined.

Not yet. THABITI ALLIANCE is an officially reserved name, and the organization is currently completing the formal Public Benefit Organization (PBO) registration process in Kenya. Registration is not yet complete and no registration number exists yet. This page — and the Governance & Transparency page — will be updated with the certificate, registration number and date as soon as they are issued.
